This blog post might seem a bit strange coming from a woman. I like history. I like old cars. My husband and I recently drove part of Route 66 (from Joliet to Tulsa), and eventually will do the rest. Most likely actually starting from Chicago. So when we heard about the Route 66 Car Show, we had to check it out. There's a lot to do, and it seems any car year is welcome, I just prefer older cars. We were there for several hours, and I would have taken more photos, but it started to rain, and we realized it wasn't going to end soon. We weren't prepared for it, and didn't want our cameras to get soaked, so we cut out time a little short. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photos I did get...
We might have to do this again next year...
Being the big kid that I am, the next two photos are of a car that was the highlight of the day for me. A Hudson Hornet! Yes, I IMMEDIATELY thought of the Disney Movie Cars. A Hudson Hornet and Route 66?? Who wouldn't think of that movie?!
A part of Route 66 history, Ogden Top and Trim has been around since 1919...
A swing band called The Rhythm Rockets was playing while we were there. They were really good!
And for my friends that are KISS fans...
In might be a little difficult to tell, but the next photo is a bike combined with the back end of a VW Bug!
If you would like to know more about this car show, there is a link to the Facebook event page from Aug 2015 if you click here.
