Griffith Rock N Rails, Part One

Being a big fan of American English, I was really excited for the first day of the Rock N Rails Fest. I mostly concentrated on the bands (it IS a music fest after all, lol) on this day, but I did take more of a variety of photos on the following days. Those blogs will be posted soon...

Opening the fest was The WiseGuys. I was still wandering and getting  something to eat, so unfortunately, I didn't get many photos of them...

Between main stage sets, The Rak Brothers played on the beer garden stage...

At this point I wandered around some more.
I know it would be crowded later....

i don't think she's too sure about this mouse... lol

Next on the main stage was The Neverly Brothers. They entertained us with a nice history of rock n roll...

Main stage emcee for the fest was Mr. Billy Wayne..

And finally, finishing out the night, my favorite, American English. If you like The Beatles, make an effort to see this band....

Act I: The early years...

Yeah, a few people like American English...

While the band make a costume change,
Calumet Breweries threw out free t-shirts!

Act II: The Sgt. Pepper era...

Act III: The Abby Road era

I had to get a photo of "the fifth Beatle", this dude is cool...

And the crowd goes wild...

Slow & Low Community Lowrider Festival; Redux

So I must say, by a slip of the finger my original blog post about Slow & Low got deleted. So here is Slow & Low Redux.....

My husband went to this last year and enjoyed it, so I ventured out with him this year, as we both love to photograph hot rods and customs. If you are at all interested, this is a wonderful family neighborhood event. I highly recommend going. We go early to avoid the crowds, and as this is becoming more popular, it gets VERY crowded through the day... Here are some photos from our early visit..

This car was hand painted by the owner!

And this was etched by hand.... WOW!

This needed an old skool vibe...

It really is a family event, with a play area for the young (and young at heart)...

If you want to learn more the Facebook event page is here. While it has passed for 2017, it'll give you an idea about future events.

Also, here is a good resource to find other shows in the midwest.
