Fairy Houses at Taltree with Bubba

Taltree Arboretum is a wonderful nature getaway right here in Northwest Indiana. I've taken many photos there and look forward to many more. It's great for families too. The have this great railway garden, with amazing model trains, an educational area, and now they have some animals as well. They have several garden themes, wonderful landscapes, and a variety of trails. Not to mention different classes, events and educational programs. If you haven't checked out Taltree, I highly recommend that you do.

I've been wanting to go back to Taltree for a while, and through the month of May, the have Fairy Houses. So, it being such a beautiful day, I decided to take Bubba for his first "hike". Plus, he was a very good boy at the vet. For those readers that don't know, Bubba is my rescue pup. He's a yorkie poodle mix. A whole seven pounds of cute. Although he was a good boy, he was a bit impatient and tired out quickly (he got shots at the vet) so it was a short trip. I love taking him along, but I'd like to back without him to take more photos and see the baby pigs and goats. Maybe next week. Here are the Fairy House photos Bubba would allow me to take, lol...

There was a neat little frog bog, Bubba scared most them off, but I got one photo anyway. lol

So much for my co-pilot....

Rockzilla and Brothers & Wine

We went to see a couple of bands that I really enjoy on May 2nd. Brothers & Wine and Rockzilla!

Brothers and Wine are fairly new to the music scene, and a great rock band with a bit of country and blues thrown in for good measure.

Rockzilla has been around a while, and are straight up Rock N Roll! They don't play often, and I hadn't seen them in a long time, so I was excited to go.

It was a blast! I was really enjoying myself, so I didn't get a lot of photos, lol. And I do apologize to the drummers of both bands for not having any photos of them. The lighting wasn't the greatest and neither was my position. But I was having fun!

Beatles in the Barn

My first experience with Beatles in the Barn was in 2011, when I realized that, I couldn't believe it had been so long. Something always got in the way. I'm so glad I finally made it back! It so awesome how these musicians, and the community, "Come Together" for the Northwest Indiana Foodbank (see what I did there? lol). The collection bin for donations was over flowing before the bands even started!

If you haven't had the privilege of making it to this event, make it a point for next year! But make sure to get our tickets early, because it sells out every year!! It's a great FAMILY event and it's held around the same time every year at County Line Orchard in Hobart. The bands are; Chris & Lou, The Crawpuppies, and The MegaBeatles (all of he musicians together).

On to the photos! And please, support local music and visit the band links at the bottom of my blog...
