The Art Institute, Van Gogh Bedrooms

My husbands birthday is February 12th and the exhibit Van Gogh Bedrooms opened the same day, for a members only preview. Its the first time, ever, that all three of his bedroom paintings have been together, and it opened here. His son happened to get us both memberships for our birthdays (mine is Jan 8th). So, we rode the train and met his son there. It was a great time, I could have stayed longer photographing, but we had other things to do that day. I will be going back for sure, soon, and more than once.

I took photographs of pieces that spoke to me. In some cases, I photographed the description, then the piece, and shared them here that way.

The first bedroom painting originally hangs in Amsterdam, the second in Chicago (at The Art Institute), and the third in Paris.

I know its a dead chicken, but the detail is so amazing that it looks like a photo rather than a painting.

I played a little with the color on this one.
The following one has the original color.

The next two are for my dad....

And lastly, this train reminded me of
Harry Potter.

And then we had lunch.... YUM!!
