Rock N Rails, Part Two: Hot Rods & Hot Tunes

Rock N Rails, day two.. (Warning: there's a lot of photos in this blog, lol) The second day of the fest, there is always a car show sponsored by the Griffith fire department. And this years was exceptional! It was beautiful weather so everyone came to show off their wheels! Wes and I help by photographing for the town and promoting the fest (I usually have this blog up faster, but I got backed up on photos this year, and had to finish photos for a client). So, if you're interested in going next year, the car show is always on Friday. I highly recommend checking it out, like the music, IT'S FREE!! Here's a few of the fantastic cars that came out....

"You'll never catch me, copper!...

I had to take a photo here, my grandparents had one of these,
their's was brown though. Still brought back memories.....

On to the bands....

First up was Got Issues...

I walked around a bit before the crowds got crazy..
(you'll see how crazy in a bit...)

Our emcee for the fest, Mr Billy Wayne...

Respecting the flag....

Next band up... Bonfire, an AC/DC tribute band (and my friends)...

"Hey! Someone get my guitar player back up here!"
"He's over there!"
(lol)

This is the part when Angus (aka Zeke) does his shtick...

The end (literally, lol)... back to playing guitar...

I know the quality of the next photo isn't the greatest,
but I love the look on his face..

Between main stage sets, there was music in the beer garden tent,
this night, the band was I'm With Frank.. but I couldn't get in the beer garden to photograph them, so all I got was their backs... lol

Next band up on the main stage, Led Zeppelin tribute band Kashmir
(I always try to get whole band photos along with individual shots, but sometimes it just doesn't work out.
Apologies to the lead singer of Kashmir)

So here is the crazy crowd I was talking about earlier...
You could barely get around!
The next two photos were taken standing in the same spot,
showing opposite ends of the fest...

That happened quick! I caught him running by!

And the final band of the day/night.. Echos of Pompeii, a Pink Floyd tribute band. If you haven't seen this band... DO IT!!!!

You're not seeing double...
Twins brothers Jeremy (bass) and Jason (lead vocals) front this band...

I typically don't like red light and photography, it's difficult to shoot.
But I really like how this next photo turned out...

And a great time was had by all.... Here are some links if you'd like to learn more about the bands or the fest...
